The Society board is offering a “Board of Directors” scholarship. The award is a retooling of the longstanding Roy Janz award. The new format will be a $500 scholarship, available exclusively to a Society student member or affiliate. The applicant must apply online, have finished Intermediate Accounting, intend to write the CPA Exam and become a CPA. A narrative will be expected describing why they are pursuing a CPA credential. Staff will select three finalists, based on the narrative content and such preference items as Society involvement, intent to pursue a career in this state, and other factors. Award application instructions will be distributed in early 2009.
Student membership is available to juniors and seniors who plan to become CPAs, and is available for up to two years after graduation (or until the Exam is completed).
Affiliate status is available more broadly, to those actively pursuing the CPA credential.
