Board of
Directors Scholarship
Applications may be submitted
for the North Dakota Society of CPAs (NDSCPA) “Board of Directors” scholarship,
a $500 gift. This award will be presented in the Spring.
The recipient must be an NDSCPA student member or affiliate, who intends to
write the CPA Exam and become a CPA. Applicants must provide a narrative (less
that 150 words) about why they are pursuing the CPA credential. Applicants are
to apply online, and must have completed Intermediate Accounting by the time of
application. From among the applicants, staff will select a group of 3
finalists, based on the narrative content, and such preference items as Society
involvement, intention to pursue a career in North Dakota, and other factors. To

In the past, the award has been presented under the name of Roy Janz, one of North Dakota’s first
CPAs. His certificate number was number 18, granted in 1925. Mr. Janz served as
President of the North Dakota CPA Society from 1948 to 1949.
The CPA Society is an association of about 1500 CPAs that provides various
services to the CPA profession, including education, information and legislative
support. Application instructions for the award can be found at here.
