Board of Directors Scholarship

An application is available for the North Dakota Society of CPAs (NDSCPA) Board of Directors Scholarship. The award has a value of $500.

The recipient must be an NDSCPA student member or affiliate, who intends to write the CPA exam and become a CPA. Applicants are to provide a narrative (less than 150 words) about why they are pursuing the CPA credential. Applicants must have completed Intermediate Accounting by the time of application. From among the applicants, a group of three finalists will be selected based on the narrative content, and such preference items as Society involvement, intention to pursue a career in North Dakota and other factors. In the past, the award has been presented under the name of Roy Janz, one of North Dakota’s first CPAs. His certificate number was number 18, granted in 1925. Mr. Janz served as president of the North Dakota CPA Society from 1948 to 1949. The CPA Society is an association of about 1500 CPAs that provides various services to the CPA profession, including education, information and legislative support.
