Award Nominations
The Society is currently seeking nominees for the following 2007 awards:

Outstanding Society Volunteer Award
The Society has begun an Outstanding Society Volunteer Award, to be selected through the Membership Committee. The award’s purpose is to recognize an individual whose dedication to the society is evidenced by their volunteer participation. The nominee must be a CPA member in good standing, who participates in the society on a volunteer basis. To apply for the award or nominate another member, simply send a brief letter or email to the Society office; there’s no need to list volunteer service details, other than local convention and chapter activity. To nominate or apply for any of these awards, simply contact the Society office.

Public Service Award
This award honors CPAs who are actively involved in community service. Contact the Society for a nomination form.

Accounting Educator Award
This award is presented to an accounting educator teaching at a North Dakota (or border city) college. It recognizes excellence and innovation in accounting education. The winner of this award will receive a plaque from the Society, and be proposed for an AICPA award.

Life Member
This status can be awarded to a retired CPA. It’s purpose is to recognize longstanding participation in the CPA Society. The recipient has the privileges of membership, but no dues obligation. To nominate an individual, submit a letter of nomination to the Society.
For information or criteria on these awards, call the Society office at toll free 877-637-2727 or local 775-7100. If you would like assistance in preparing any of the above nomination forms, please contact Jim Abbott at the Society office.

Business and Industry Award
If you know someone who is deserving of Hall of Fame status (see criteria), tell us about them.
The Hall of Fame, Business and Industry Award is made up of a very select group of people who have all, in their own way, made superior achievements and contributions over the course of their careers as financial professionals.

Criteria includes:

  • Modeling the objectivity and ethical commitments
    of the CPA profession
  • Create value by managing technology and resources
  • Provide vision using knowledge business issues
  • Understand the profession beyond the numbers
  • Champion new methods and solutions
  • Inspire and motivate others to excellence

Please help us recognize those CPAs whose value cannot be measured by numbers alone. Contact the Society for information and a nomination form. Submit before August 31.
