AICPA INFOCAST SERIES OFFERS STRATEGY MAPPING, IT AND INTERNET MARKETING GUIDANCE

NEW YORK (March 20, 2007) – Strategy mapping, information technology investment and Internet marketing are the topics of a spring infocast series from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The AICPA is basing the series on current and upcoming Management Accounting Guidelines created by the AICPA in partnership with the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants based in the United Kingdom. The guidelines provide practical guidance about selected financial management issues, as well as current and evolving strategic management practices and concepts.

“Each infocast covers a very important aspect of conducting business in today’s competitive, electronic world,” said John Morrow, AICPA Vice President of Business, Industry & Government. “Strategy mapping has emerged as a way to clarify an organization’s objectives and business drivers; evaluating IT investments is a necessary step that corporations need to take to keep control over technology spending; and finally, Internet marketing initiatives, still in relative infancy as a marketing venue also need to be measured and understood.”

The schedule is as follows. All infocasts will run from 12:00p.m.-1:15p.m. EDT.

  • March 22, 2007: “Strategy Mapping: One Picture is Worth a Thousand Words.” Get advice on developing a strategy for your organization.
  • April 19, 2007: “IT Investments: Capturing the Return.” Learn how to identify and measure the benefits.
  • May 17, 2007: “Internet Marketing: Evaluating the Value Proposition.” Decide if Internet marketing is right for your organization.

The Infocasts are free, but pre-registration is required as space is limited. CPAs may opt to receive one continuing professional educational credit for each complete session. A fee of $29.95 will be charged per CPE credit.

Archives of all three Infocasts may be accessed at:
